Much has been said about the amazing vocal acrobatics of Dimash Qudaibergen, his vocal range is longer than the notes on a piano. His lowest recorded range is his vocal fry at F#1 to his whistle tone at D8.
The song that portrays the entirety (as far as I know) of his vocal range is best displayed in Diva Dance from the film Fifth Element. The original version in the film was created by a mix of human and synthesised sounds to reach the extreme high notes. It was widely declared humanly impossible for a human to be able to sing that Aria unassisted by technology, and then Dimash blew everyone away along with the theory when he first performed Confessa and Diva Dance on The Singer (2017). personally I like the version he does with Li Yugang as a duet incorporating the song of the Drunken Concubine at the Spring Festival in Shanghai 2020.
Li Yugang is a Male Operatic singer who sings the parts of a woman in Opera, which is apparently a common practise in China. It was considered a great honour by Dimash to be able to sing a duet with him and I believe they had a lot of fun with the performance each showing off their unique vocal talents more than ably.
This is Dimash’s first outing on the Singer with Confessa (which is absolutely beautifully raw ) and then into Diva Dance. The faces of the audience and other competitors tell their own story! The singer stood watching from behind the scenes in the funky Green jacket is the famous and much loved Chinese artist, Terry Lin, a beautiful vocalist in his own right, he became a firm friend to Dimash throughout the remainder of the competition and was jokingly referred to as Dimash’s adopted Papa.
Love is like a dream is a personal favourite, the melody is beautiful and Dimash brings it to a whole new dimension that only he can! It’s here today because I just adore watching this particular performance, and y’know, there is that vocal fry at the start that gives me goose bumps every time I hear it!

Unforgettable Day gives us Dimash’s golden D8 whistle tone. This is a beautiful song, sung by possibly the most extraordinary singer on the planet today. If he has any flaws I have yet to find them. Both professionally and personally this young man is an absolute delight and I adore the fact that he does not embrace his ‘stardom’ but remains humble and is extremely family orientated, he is respectful to his fans and always thanks them for their continued support.
The fact that Dimash’s music videos/live performances are so easily accessible to his fans on YouTube is a mark of his understanding of how he got to the heights he has, and stays there. Without the fans he understands he is a man with a golden voice and nowhere to show it. He readily provides new music on his YouTube channel for his fans to devour! And we do! Frequently!
For anyone who wishes to step completely into Dimash’s universe and get lost there for a while here is the link for his Official YouTube channel. https://www.youtube.com/c/DimashQudaibergen_official

I know, I posted 3 different versions of the same song to show the ‘song’ from all angles, my personal favourite is the duet with Li Yugang, that’s a ‘vocalising’ battle right there! I love that they tried to top each others notes! Personally I think Dimash’s voice is so much richer, there was no comparison but I have long been a fan of Li anyway so it was good to watch them perform together! I was like a kid in a candy store when I found that video!
The Love is like a dream video is just a personal favourite of mine so I dropped it in because, well, that vocal fry… yum! From the vocal fry at the beginning to the Ave Maria a little before the end it has it all for me, I adore the melody of that song and the way Dimash delivers it.
Unforgettable day show’s Dimash’s other talents off exceptionally well, he wrote and composed that song when he was just a teenager! If my kid had come home with an ‘all my own work’ sticker with something like that song attached to it, I probably would have done somersaults!! Can you imagine?? LOL! ‘Shush! Genius at work’ signs would have gone up all around the house! It was also the first time I saw him sing the D8 whistle tone! Blew my mind to tiny pieces when I heard that! Eat your heart out Mariah Carey! 😋😋
He’s the gift that keeps on giving! I love being in Dimash’s Universe, it’s a delightful place to spend time! I’m so glad you have enjoyed being sucked into his world too Nora! 😘
