I have long since realised that music is the only thing that calms my mind sometimes. Nothing else can get in. Nothing else works as well as a beautiful melodic voice or piece of music and I will listen to absolutely everything from Classical, Opera, Neo-classical to Folk, blues, blue grass, Jazz, country, and everything in between!
My current music of choice is a young man who has only recently popped up on my radar, I was looking for some Jessie J music to listen to and found the videos of her competing in the Chinese competition ‘The Singer’ in 2018. I love Jessie’s voice, she is greatly overlooked as an artist in my opinion and she can sing just about any song! Her vocal versatility is stunning!
A happy by-product of watching her take part in this contest is that I decided to see what other artists had entered it in previous years and that was when I found this young man from Kazakhstan, Dimash Qudaibergen!
Wow! Just WOW! His voice is like nothing I have ever heard before nor I suspect will ever hear the likes of again. He is truly a one off, unique, and unparalleled talent.
This was his first performance on the show ‘The Singer’, in 2017! He was the first foreign artist to be invited onto the Chinese contest and they gave him the opening night first performance! Just take a listen… I promise, no matter your chosen musical genre, you will not be able to deny this young man’s talent and immense vocal range and ability! He has a 7 octave range, can sing in 12 languages, and is a multi-instrumentalist! That’s just the tip of the iceberg! Go on a Dimash trip, and enjoy music in a way you have never experienced it before.
As a side comment to this video, I would not have wanted to be the artist who had to follow this performance!
If you enjoyed this video, I would suggest watching him sing ‘Sinful Passion’ on YouTube. Its a delightful journey!
For anyone who wishes to step completely into Dimashβs universe and get lost there for a while here is the link for his Official YouTube channel.Β https://www.youtube.com/c/DimashQudaibergen_official
Thank you for indulging my musical side trip…
WOW! This song is just incredible, Gemma! Thank you so much sharing it. I just listened to it three times. His voice…it is just magic. I have no idea what he is saying, but it totally doesn’t matter. XOXO

I know right? I cried the first time I watched him sing this and possibly every other time I have watched him sing anything! I can honestly say, I have never heard a voice like his and I listen to classical and Opera more than I listen to any other genre! If music feeds the soul then this young man must be feeding millions of them! I too noticed that it doesn’t matter what language he sings in, the effect is still the same, he takes you on a journey with his voice! Oh and as a side comment, I just love the shocked expressions of the other contestants and the audience! Priceless! π xxx

Nora, you should look him up on You Tube, seriously, you haven’t heard anything yet! He was about 23 in this video, he has polished his craft even more, if that’s even possible, you should check out sinful passion!

Oh my, I adore Billy Bragg! Mainly because he is an unrepentant activist lol but his voice is always so crystal clear! Gives me goosebumps! π

I love music – it can powerfully effect my mood.
This guy is so operatic – I was not expecting that.

He’s been classically trained since he was, I think it’s either 3 or 4 years old! So all of his life basically. He has a known 7 octave vocal range which could be 8 because of his whistle tone, and can sing equally as powerfully in any of those octaves and in most songs, all of them will make an appearance. His vocal versatility is off the chart on a technical level, but, it is the tone of his voice and his ability to emote any song he sings, doesn’t matter the language, you are taken on a journey with him, that gives me chills every time I hear him sing. It is just the most beautiful sound I’ve ever heard! I’ve listened to him sing Opera which is a favourite genre for me, but his neo-classical stuff is amazing. He sings in every genre so there is literally something for everyone. I read a comment about him a few days ago by a vocal teacher and he likened his voice to that of a choir of voices just in one body.
I could wax literally lyrical about him for days, I will stop now πππ
